A HARVEST BARREL

A barrel for a cake? 

It was thanksgiving and a friend requested a cake that would make an impression with her guests. I thought a barrel are would be perfect for the occasion. This cake was so much fun to make. The leaves were made using a template from here, the colors of the leaves and the barrel was achieved by creating a marble effect on the fondant and the deep brown hues of the wooden fondant was achieved by dusting on dark brown petal dust. For a more realistic look, I made some indents on the fondant.
